So as most of you probably know by now, I'm pregnant. I'm due June 23, and we're having a little girl. (We just found out Monday).
This is Ian's happy face after the positive pregnancy test. (Unlike most of his happy faces, this one is genuine.)
We've been calling the baby Fred. We didn't want to give it some nickname that it would get stuck with for the rest of its life, and Ian's dad calls all of the grandkids Fred anyway. Since the ultrasound we've been using Fredette as well, though more for the feminization rather than as a tribute to Jimmer.
These are pictures of Fred's arm, face, foot and legs respectively. They are labeled if you can see that small.
I'm already learning that she has definite opinions of how things should and should not be. She kicks me a lot, especially when she is getting pushed on, which unfortunately always coincides with me having a full bladder. During the ultrasound when the tech was trying to get the picture of Fred's foot, she kept kicking it really hard. On Wednesday Ian and I were looking at the baby name book. Ian, of course, was suggesting the most ridiculous ones he saw, and when he did Fred kicked me really hard. One of the ones he suggested was Iana. He said that if he died I should name her that. Of course the next day we found out he had leukemia. But, since I don't like Iana at all, he can't. Not that he's really in danger of dying anytime soon anyway.

Beautiful already!
ReplyDeleteTim likes to be funny picking out names too. He likes to pick Spanish names that I can't really pronounce. They are so funny.
