So I'm done with all my clinical hours for the term. I do still have some assignments to do but they are all online, so Fred can come any day she wants. I'm 38 weeks today.
This was at 36 weeks. Like my sweet sunburn? The darker line was from when we planted our garden (I use we loosely, since I can't really bend over, Ian did most of it). I wanted to try to even things out a bit, so a few days later I put sunblock on the already tanned part but not the rest and somehow ended up with an even weirder looking tan.
This is the Fred's room so far. I finished the tree, as you can see. And of course the changing station is ready for action with the box stocked with diapers and wipes. The big bag on the floor is our go bag. It is covering up a braided rag rug that my sister made that matched perfectly. And it wasn't even planned since she made it for us when we got married. So thanks, Camilla! Also, in case anyone was wondering, the shutters don't cover a window, but there is a mirror. It's Ian's tie tying mirror, since I'm always using the one in the bathroom.
It was Ian's birthday yesterday. He's 28 now. It's great that he's older than me because I can always say that I won't be old until I'm the same age as he is, which of course I never will be. (Anyway, I didn't take very many pictures, since grown-up birthdays are not all that exciting.) Sadly, for both of us, Ian didn't get the thing he wanted the most--Fred. I did wake up at 5:30 and I was having contractions every 10 minutes, but when I got out of bed they pretty much stopped. And then they started again in Sunday School, but stopped when I went home.
I made another cheesecake this year, but it did not turn out nearly as good as last year's. I should've stopped after that practically perfect one. It tasted just fine, which is the important thing I guess.
So now all we have to do is wait. At my appointment two weeks ago I was dilated 2cm and 80% effaced, so were pretty excited. Then, at my appointment last week it was still exactly the same. Much less exciting.

That sounds like my doctor appointments. They tell you they can't believe you are not in labor yet, and you think you are having that kid any second, and then wait a week or two and they say the same thing. Eventually they do get here. (I really hope Fred comes before we do next week!! Tell her Aunt Tara really wants to see her, so get a move on.) Now she has all the motivation she needs, so I am sure she will come soon. Glad you got your hours done. Don't let my baby see your nursery. She will be jealous hers is not as cute. See you soon!
